DalaranThe Kirin-Tor was formed in Dalaran. That pink dome west of Alterac Mountains, and near Tarren Mill. The Kirin-Tor created the Guardian order thousands of years ago, with the purpose to destroy any demonic presence in the world. Medivh was the last Guardian of such order.Another thing to note, is that Krasus -- consort of the Red Dragonflight Queen Alexstrasza, lived as a member of the Kirin-Tor. He was disguised/shapeshifted as a high elf and became one of the 6 Senior Leaders of the Kirin-Tor-- Warcraft: Day of the Dragon novel.Krasus already gave indirectly to Alliance players a mission in World of Warcraft ... "Tremors of the Earth". The elf Garek --who gave you the quest-- is an agent of Krasus. Most likely, Krasus and his agents will give more quests in the future. Hopefully, he is still in Dalaran giving us hardcore quests for instances yet to come.GilneasNot sure if this peninsula will be added in the current build or in an expansion. Gilneas is a big city and no longer part of the Alliance. They are an independent Human nation. Of Gilneas, nothing has been known for over 20 years, since the Second War. Gilneas is ruled by Lord Genn Greymane. After the Second War, Greymane built the Greymane Wall to barricade incoming of any unwanted visitors. Not even Gilneas residents are allowed to leave. Of all the seven kingdoms of the Alliance, it was Gilneas the one to not support the Alliance during the Second War.Warcraft RPG: Lands of Conflict -- written by the Dwarf Brann Bronzebeard, speculates that maybe the Naga has taken Gilneas. If Lord Genn Greymane still lives, he must be in his 70s -- confirms the book. The isle of Zul'Dare is territory of Gilneas. Lord Greymane submitted Lord Prestor to the Alliance during the Second War -- as heir of Alterac. Lord Prestor proved to be Deathwing in human disguise. Could Deathwing be hiding in Gilneas? Nothing is certain since Deathwing has not been seen since the Second War. More of Gilneas and Lord Genn Greymane may be found out in Warcraft: Day of the DragonKul'TirasKul'Tiras is a huge human nation located in an island. It isn't currently in-game. It may be released in the Expansion pack or future add-on. The island should be somewhere southwest of Guilneas and northwest of Stormwind within the Great Sea. It was known in Warcraft 2 to be the biggest Naval fleet of the Alliance. There are other islands missing: Crestfall -- which is supposed to be southwest of Tol Barad and somewhat west of Menethil Harbor, Wetlands. The other island is Zul'dare, just south of Guilneas and north of Kul'Tiras -- all islands can be appreciated in this Map. Both Crestfall and Tol Barad are part of Kul'Tiras' territory. Tol Barard, though was destroyed by the Dragonmaw Orcs during the Second War. Later, rebuilt as a prison, but after the Scourge ravaged most of Hillsbrad, Tol Barad, now known as Purgatory Isle. was affected. Ghosts roam the area in penance.Kul'Tiras was led for many years by Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, father of Jaina Proudmoore -- ruler of Theramore. It is unknown what is the current whereabouts of Kul'Tiras, since Daelin sailed west to Kalimdor in search of any survivors and in search of his daughter. The World of Warcraft Collector's Edition Behind the Scenes DVD shows a map of Undermine, the goblin land, as a navigation hub with a boat route to Kul'Tiras. The capital of Kul'Tiras is Boralus and its current ruler after the dead of Daelin is Admiral Tandred Proudmoore. His closest friend Captain Mishan Waycrest takes care of keeping the seas clear of Murlocs, Naga and Pirates. The Undead Scourge has not been able to reach Kul'Tiras.Crestfall isle has a community of fishers and boats, but aren't very amicable. The attacks of Naga have incremented in the zone. A warlord Naga known as Zethresh hides within the western coast of Crestfall. South of Guilneas, Zul'dare has been occupied by Trolls and Naga.Besides Naga and Murlocs, the Naval Fleet of Kul'Tiras also keeps close watch on Pirates. Specially Captain Dannol Scurvgrin -- who has ties with the Bloodsail Pirates of the South Seas. His very goal is to one day cease control of Kul'Tiras.Grim BatolGrim Batol is far east of Wetlands, you can actually get there. It has some 6 gates at the Dragonmaw Gates -- custodied by Red Dragonkin and a roaming Red Drake, Axtroz, for the Onyxia-key quest series.Grim Batol, is the location mentioned in Warcraft: Day of the Dragon novel. Rhonin, Vereesa the elven ranger, and Falstad the dwarf traveled to Grim Batol to destroy the Demon Soul. The origin of the Demon soul was 10,000 years ago. Deathwing had convinced the other 4 dragon aspects: Ysera, Alexstrasza, Nozdormu and Malygos, into giving part of their powers to a magical golden artifact. Deathwing convinced them that the Dragon Soul disc containing their very essences could be the ultimate weapon to exterminate the demons of the Burning Legion during the War of the Ancients. The dragons foolishly believed Deathwing and infused half their powers into the Dragon Soul artifact. Deathwing didn't infuse his powers. It was a trick. The dragons, though, noticing the treachery of Deathwing, cursed the Dragon soul. Deathwing can not wield the power of the artifact. It was for this matter that Deathwing manipulated the Orcs sending a goblin servant to join the Horde. The Goblin led them to find the Demon Soul. With it, the Orcs were able to mind-control Alexstrasza the Queen Dragon. This happened during Warcraft 2 events, the Second War. Over 15 years before Warcraft 3 events. The orcs destroyed the Alliance cities with the help of red dragons in hit-and-run strategic blows. Krasus, the consort of Alexstraza, had been living among Humans and High Elves for many years, disguised as High Elf Archmage of the Kirin-Tor in Dalaran. Krasus had the obssesion of caring for the Humans and Elves, and he would spy on their affairs becoming part of them. Given that he is the consort of the Dragon Aspect of life, his sworn duty was to watch over the development and evolution of the lesser races, and to teach them. He sent Rhonin --a human mage to destroy the Demon Soul in Grim Batol and to rescue Alexstrasza. This area was mentioned by Tigole in July 2004.NOTE: The Dwarves had created Grim Batol as a copy of Iron Forge 300 years ago. After the War of the Three Hammers, Grim Batol was abandoned. Although the Dark Iron Dwarves of Blackrock Mountain were defeated, the death of Emperor Thaurissan's wife within Grim Batol made the place inhabitable with a psychic taint affecting the area. Most of the Wildhammer Dwarves made a new home at Hinterlands in Aerie Peak. Some 300 Dwarves though, stayed in Wetlands hoping to one day return to Grim Batol. During the Second War, the Dragonmaw orcs took Grim Batol and most of Khaz'Modan. Over 300 Dwarves had to hide underground within digged tunnels and in caves hoping to someday retake their home from the green-skinned invaders. When Rhonin, Vereesa and Falstad with help of Krasus, attacked the Dragonmaw Caravan of wagons, the dwarves took back Grim Batol killing many orcs in their path. Alexstrasza lives now in Grim Batol -- according to Warcraft RPG: Shadow & Light and Warcraft RPG: Lands of Conflict. Grom, the leader of the Hill-Dwarves was secretly an agent of Krasus, therefore it is possible that this group of Dwarves now serve the Red dragonflight within the walls of Grim Batol. The Warcraft RPG: Manual of Monsters comments that Dragonspawns aren't genetically related to the dragons. Dragonspawns and dragonkin were formerly humanoids who willingly served the dragons for many years, and took on the aspects of their patrons. Although, I wouldn't hold my breath on this, it might be possible that the red dragonspawns in Grim Batol are formerly some of the loyal Hill-Dwarves in new shape.Warcraft RPG: Lands of Conflict reveals that Alexstrasza and her dragonflight are keeping anyone from getting near Grim Batol. They are protecting something deep within its walls, a secret power. Some say they are protecting a powerful artifact or creature. The book goes as far as to speculate that Deathwing has been held captive and imprisoned within Grim Batol. Another possibility is that the creature that now holds the essence of the Sunwell might be under protection of the Red Dragonflight -- Read Warcraft Manga: The Sunwell Trilogy.Spoilers: Day of the Dragon summary.NOTE: Falstad, the dwarf from the book is an NPC in-game in Aerie Peak, on the stairway to the Gryphon master.OutlandThis is the original world of the Draeni and the Orcs, formerly planet Draenor. According to ex-Community Manager Katricia, during the Blizzard Devs & Fansites Chat of February 2004, the access to Outland will be a World Event. Once opened, the Dark Portal of Blastedlands will allow players to enter Outland. "Q: We've seen from an older screenshot that the Dark Portal has been rebuilt (after being destroyed in War2 expansion pack). Can you give us any background on why it's back or what role it'll play in the game?Katricia: The foundation of the Dark Portal was never destroyed even though the connection between the worlds was severed; and while it is no longer open, there is a legend of a ritual contained within Medivh's spellbook which might one day allow powerful Warlocks to open a portal. That Fansite Chat was revealing, specially because it tells the item needed to open the Dark Portal. The last time the Spellbook of Medivh was seen, was in Warcraft III: Reign of Chaosj, when Kel'Thuzad chanted a spellwork from the Book of Medivh to summon Archimonde at Dalaran.Kel'Thuzad can be found at the Naxxaramas Necropolis, within Stratholme instance. Naxxaramas is rumored to be the next instance to be released in patch 1.80 -- Blizzard hasn't yet revealed what patch 1.80 will feature. So far, they have revealed patch 1.70 to release Zul'Gurub in Stranglethorn Vale and patch 1.90 to feature Ah'Quiraj in Silithus.Once Naxxaramas Necropolis is opened, players may start raiding it to kill Kel'Thuzad -- the first lieutenant of Arthas the Lich King. Kel'Thuzad was left to shepperd the Scourge in the Plaguelands of Lordaeron from the Necropolis of Stratholme, while the Lich King Arthas recovers and rebuilds the Ice Crown of Northrend. It is rumored that the Spellbook of Medivh will be a unique rare drop. Once dropped, many Warlocks will be needed to initiate a ritual to open the Dark Portal -- and thereafter, anyone will be able to enter Outland. If you havent played Frozen Throne, Illidan, the blood Elves and a Naga faction teleported to Outland, making it their new home. Rumors say the Dark Portal in Blasted Lands will allow us to enter Outlands. According to the Warcraft: Lands of Conflict RPG Book, Outlands is what remains of Draenor ... floating asteroids in the Twisting Nether. Some chunks of debris are big enough to be whole cities. Illidan reigns now from the former Black Citadel of Ner'zhul in Outland. Each redish chunk of floating asteroids and debris -- of the remains of Draenor -- are linked together by enormous black chains, bound together by demonic magic. The Burning Legion made this place theirs, but Illidan and his forces own the place now.The desolate place of Outland emits flashes of light and streams of energy. Outland is currently a way station. Many portals are still active -- according to Warcraft RPG: Shadow & Light -- page 150 -- within some of the floating asteroids, leading to other worlds. Players might be able to enter undiscovered planets -- which is obviously material for downloadable add-ons or separate expansion packs. Some local Draeni live in communities spread through the island-like asteroids, and players can walk down to other asteroids through the enormous chains that bind each floating asteroid.Beneath the Black Citadel of Ner'Zhul, where Ilidan reigns Outland, is a big prison which holds heroes from past Wars. Since the Draeni survived the implosion of Draenor, and the book says there are heroes still alive, it could be possible that Khadgar, Alleria the ranger, and other heroes from the First and Second Wars between the Orcs and Alliance, and Warcraft 2: Beyond the Dark Portal -- could still be alive, and become part of in-game quests. Usually this type of quests involves escorting a prisoner to a safe spot and defending him in the way out.A chunk of land floating in the Twisting Nether, linked by chains to the floating debris that holds the Black Citadel, was formerly what remains of the Hellfire Peninsula. It was a battlefield of the Second War when Alliance fought the Horde in Draenor. There are still encampments and war machines standing, even ghosts roam the area.Among the creatures that inhabit Outland are Felboars, Phase spiders, Draeni, Fire Elementals, Fungal Horrors, Succubi, Nether Dragons(composed of nether energy, and not related to real dragons).
